What is an Order Gatherer?
These companies are internet-based middle-men. They create websites to appear like real brick-and-mortar businesses, using deceptive marketing. After they gather an order, they call real local businesses - like us - in hopes that we will fulfill the order on their behalf.
Did they scam me?
Where did my money go?
Order gatherers take your money and subtract a large commission fee before sending the order to a florist. This means the price you paid is much higher than the budget we are given to work with. We do not know how much you originally paid for the order - only the budget given by the gatherer. Typically they keep 20% - 40% of your money.
They won't stop calling me asking for more money!
Often times, order gatherers are collecting SO much commission, that they are unable to find a florist to fulfill the order for such a small budget. In order for them to make money from the order, they need to get more from the customer.
I received my flower order but...
It looks nothing like the picture online.
When we receive orders from an order gatherer, we are given a vague description of the arrangement, with no photo to go off of. We have no idea how much money you spent on the order, only the reduced budget after commission. Because of this, the arrangement is often noticeably smaller or different than the photo advertised.
What Do I Do?
If you have been affected by a deceptive floral order collector, file a formal complaint or incident report directly on the Better Business Bureau Complaint and Scam Tracker portal. If you never received your order, try canceling the order with the company and contact your credit card issuer or bank immediately to dispute the transaction.
For the future
